In the last two years, most of our students are enrolling to learn Ukulele. We did some research within our circle and got to know that most music training academies have a similar enrollment pattern.

The ukulele has gained popularity in recent years for a few different reasons:

  1. Accessibility: The ukulele is a relatively inexpensive instrument, making it more accessible to people who may not have the resources to invest in a more expensive instrument. Additionally, the small size of the ukulele makes it easier to transport and play in smaller spaces, making it a convenient option for people on-the-go. A lot of travel enthusiasts who carry their musical instruments with them, now prefer to carry a Ukulele.

  2. Popularity in pop culture: The ukulele has been featured in popular songs and TV shows in recent years, bringing it into the mainstream. For example, the song "Riptide" by Vance Joy, which prominently features a ukulele, became a hit in 2013.

  3. Community: The ukulele has a supportive and welcoming community of players and enthusiasts, which has helped to foster its popularity. This community includes online forums, local clubs and gatherings, and even international ukulele festivals.

  4. Social media: The rise of social media has allowed musicians and enthusiasts to share their love for the ukulele with a wider audience. Platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok have allowed people to showcase their ukulele playing and share tutorials and lessons with others.

Overall, the combination of social media, accessibility, pop culture, and community has helped to make the ukulele a popular instrument in recent years.
