Singers in their journey of becoming better singers, sometimes ignore these little things, which in the long term impacts their singing.

Here are a few things you should avoid to become good singers:

  1. Straining your vocal cords: Singers should avoid pushing their voice beyond its natural limit, which can cause vocal strain or damage. This can happen when a singer sings too loudly or for extended periods of time without proper rest and vocal warm-ups.

  2. Poor vocal technique: Singers should avoid poor vocal techniques, such as improper breathing or poor posture, which can lead to vocal strain, tension, and even permanent damage. Proper vocal training can help singers develop good technique and avoid these problems.

  3. Smoking or excessive alcohol consumption: Smoking and excessive alcohol consumption can damage the vocal cords, affect the quality of a singer's voice, and even lead to serious health problems. Singers should avoid these habits to maintain their vocal health.

  4. Overuse of vocal effects: While using vocal effects, such as vibrato, growling, or screaming, can add flair to a performance, singers should avoid overusing them. Overusing these effects can cause vocal strain and damage over time.

  5. Poor hydration and diet: Adequate hydration and a healthy diet are crucial for maintaining vocal health. Singers should avoid caffeine, alcohol, and spicy foods, which can cause dehydration and inflammation, and instead opt for water and a balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and lean protein.

Avoid these as much as possible and good luck with your singing journey!
